Karen Smyers to join FIREMANIRONMAN CAMP

Well good news keeps coming in and the 2010 FIREMANIRONMAN CAMPS are pleased to announce that Hall of Fame mom and triathlete Karen Smyers will join the staff of ambassadors at the 10th anniversary camp. Karen has compiled a resume in the sport of triathlon that is simply amazing. Her 1995 double of winning at Kona and returning two weeks later to capture the ITU triathlon world title is perhaps the single most remarkable achievement in the sport to date. Karen will be with us for the weekend sharing her knowledge and insight into the sport. We are very excited to have her on board and look foward to June.

Jen Gatz signed on for 2010 Camp

Dave, Jen and Van Gatz have been attending the FIREMANIRONMAN CAMP since 2002. Dave an age group Ironman World  Champion in 2001 is coached by his wife Jen of Jaya Sports. We welcome them once again to inform and motivate our campers in 2010. Jen shared her knowledge with us as one our keynote speakers in 2009. Although I consider myself  street smart  Imust admit Jen has a wee bit more book learnin  Mrs.Gatz boasts a
B.Sc. in Fitness Cardiac Rehab/Exercise Science from Ithaca College in 1993, an M.A. in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University in 1999 and a M.A.T. in Biology with a teaching certificate from Stony Brook University in 2004.

Sheri Fraser on board for 2010

Nordic Camp dates are set

FIREMANIRONMAN TRI CAMP Working on the details for the Nordic Camp...Dates Feb 26-28.. Get out of the gym and experience the great outdoors with instruction and guides you will cross country ski, snowshoe in the backwoods of Lake Placid, skate on the Olympic Oval...Mark your calendar and be part of this inaugural camp. We will running this ...camp in conjunction with High Peaks cyclery the nordic experts at Lake Placid. Registration will be available on Feb 8, 2010

FIREMANIRONMAN TRI CAMP ok...finally...Nordic Camp Feb 26-28.. Here is what we got..Friday evening at High Peaks cyclery we will be fitted for our gear and grab some pizza. The price will include the following 2 days of rental both Snow Shoe's and crosscountry skis instruction and guides. Saturday we will cross country ski in beautiful Moun...t Van Hovenberg Park with park entry and lunch included. Evening we will stretch and relax with an early evening yoga class , Sunday snow shoe in the High Peaks back country of Lake Placid lunch included.
